I cook. I can fix anything (almost). I used to wrestle polar bears (only part of that last sentence is true). Virtually everything I own is purposeful. It all makes or fixes or facilitates something else. Everything is a work in progress. Say that again; everything (underline it) is a work in progress. Routine maintenance is mankind's only defense against entropy.
Who are your favorite authors and why? Cormac McCarthy: If the man killed my family, I would forgive him for having written Blood Meridian. I truly believe it to be the most important piece of writing since Ulysses (or maybe since The Sound and the Fury.)
David Foster Wallace: because he was just that fucking smart, alright. Erudition, complexity, and experimentation will always catch hell from some, but posterity favors the risk takers (especially the brilliant ones)
What is your most prized possession? Either my 86' Chevy Clunker Deluxe pick-up, or my Devere 504 4x5 enlarger with drop down easel and Aristo VC cold light head (I can make prints 4' by 4' baby!)
The first section I turn to in the Chronicle is visual arts

It's Sunday morning at 10 a.m. If I'm not still sleeping, I'm wishing Capitol City Auto Salvage was open.
